First film festival of Jamaica pulls back curtains
Kingston, (PL) The first Film Festival of Jamaica hosted the screening of over 40 films, the organizers confirmed.
From the audiovisual in competition, 20 have a local filmmaker, eight register as Jamaican productions and five saw the light with support Promotions Corporation of that country.
The first Film Festival Jamaica is developed to promote the creative work of local filmmakers and includes animated, documentary and fiction films.
The music also stands at the event by several presentations and live reggae concert at the Tuff Gong Recording Studios International, one of the most important recording rooms in the Caribbean.
This institution is a cultural heritage for Jamaicans, because it was founded by genre icon Bob Marley in 1965.
